About Us

S Sangani and Co is a Chartered Accountancy firm based in Thane, Maharashtra, registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India under Firm Registration No. 165334W. It is a proprietary practice. Engagements requiring specialist input — company secretarial work, legal opinions, actuarial or technical valuation — are carried out in association with independent professionals, and the firm tells clients at the outset which parts of an assignment it will perform itself.

The firm works principally with privately held and family-owned businesses, and with the promoters and management teams who run them. That client profile shapes how the work is done. Compliance is delivered on a fixed calendar so that nothing is discovered late. Advisory work is delivered in writing, with the reasoning set out, because a promoter deciding on a restructuring or a tax position is entitled to see how the conclusion was reached and not merely to be told what it is.

How Engagements Are Run

Scoping: An initial discussion establishes what is needed, what is statutory and what is discretionary, and what the realistic timeline is. Where the requirement falls outside the firm's competence or capacity, that is said at this stage.

Engagement letter: Scope, deliverables, timelines, fees and the basis of billing are recorded in writing before work begins, in accordance with professional standards.

Execution: A single point of contact throughout. Information requirements are issued as a consolidated list rather than in instalments, and status is reported at agreed intervals.

Reporting: Deliverables are in writing. Advisory conclusions state the provision relied on, the assumptions made and the alternative positions considered, so that the file supports the position if it is later examined.

Continuity: For retained clients, a compliance calendar is maintained and shared, and statutory due dates are tracked ahead of time.
